Doreen Riordan,
BSN, BA, RN, PMH-BC, GERO-BC
Doreen Riordan is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health and gerontological registered nurse and a Legal Nurse Consultant with more than fifteen years of clinical experience. Her career spans inpatient psychiatry, substance use detoxification, correctional health, home health, long-term care, and geriatric psyschiatry, giving her a uniquely broad clinical foundation. Throughout her career she has served in charge nurse and crisis triage roles, developing particular expertise in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and evidence-based withdrawal management.

As the founder of Riordan & Associates, Doreen brings that clinical depth to the legal field, providing medical-legal case analysis, chronology development, and expert consultation to both plaintiff and defense attorneys. She specializes in reviewing complex medical records to identify deviations from the standard of care, nursing causation, and damages, with a focus on cases involving behavioral health, substance use disorders, and geriatric psychiatric care. Her hallmark is the ability to translate complicated clinical information into clear, evidence-based summaries that non-clinical audiences can readily understand and act on.

Doreen earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she was elected class president and inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She holds certifications through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Vickie Milazzo Institute, and is an active member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants. She practices out of Plymouth, Massachusetts.
